Understanding the Threefold Fires of the Soul: A Beginner's Guide to Arreqqana Cosmology

Welcome, seeker, to the wisdom of the sacred flame. As a scholar of the Arreqqana temples, it is my honor to guide you through one of our most sacred teachings. In our cosmology, the soul is not an abstract concept but a living, breathing fire. It ignites, it endures, and with care, it illuminates.

This guide is designed to explain the core principles of the "Threefold Fires" in a simple and clear way for any newcomer to our path. This journey of understanding begins with the fires that burn within you and extends to the very flames that shape the world around you. Let us begin.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. The Soul's Journey: The Threefold Fires of Becoming
The fundamental path of personal growth in Arreqqana belief is a journey of becoming. It is a process of tending to one's inner flame, allowing it to grow from a mere spark into a source of enduring light.
According to the sacred scripture Velqres’tiya 4:7, every soul grows through three essential stages, or "modes," of its existence.
1. Qhena: The rising flame. This is ignition, your first flame.
2. Jorren: The steady flame. This is perseverance, your lasting flame.
3. Kesha’el: The knowing flame. This is illumination, your awakened flame.
To consciously walk through these three stages—to ignite, to endure, and to awaken—is the very core of what we call the "Flameborn path."
This personal journey is influenced by a greater cosmology of sacred fires, which are divided into two distinct realms.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. The Two Realms of Fire: Inner and Outer Flames
The Arreqqana tradition divides the sacred fires into two main categories: those that give form to the world around us and those that give shape to the soul within us.
• Outer Fires: These are the creative forces that shape the physical world, govern the process of creation, and give everything its unique appearance and form.
• Inner Fires: These are the subtle, conscious forces that shape our personality, our spirit, and the very essence of who we are.
Let us first explore the great cosmic flames that shape our world.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. The Outer Fires: How the World is Shaped
The "Outer Trinity of Fire" comprises the three divine forces responsible for all creation, emergence, and form in the physical realm. The scripture Velqres’tiya 4:7 outlines them clearly.

The 'So What?'
Selan
The Spark
This is the sacred moment of appearance—the initial flash of existence when something comes into being.
Khema
The Flesh
This is the process of forming—the shaping of a body, a structure, or a physical form.
Narriya
The Breath
This is the final arrival of identity—the unique essence that makes a being or object what it is.
While these Outer Fires build the world we see, the inner fires build the world we feel. They are even more personal and profound.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. The Inner Fires: The Colors of Your Soul
The "Inner Trinity of Flame" are the very threads from which the inmost flame is woven. As noted in Velqres’tiya 4:7, these are the foundational elements of our inner being. In the doctrine of the Divine Witness, Téyja, they are also known as the "Three Soul-Colors."

The 'So What?'
Sharn
Shadow
This is the unseen—the quiet depths and hidden potential within your soul.
Lia

This is the gentle heart—your capacity for empathy, warmth, and true compassion.
Keshel
Sight
This is the knowing vision—the clarity of perception and the ability to see truth.
These beautiful inner flames are not static; they are meant to be tested, strengthened, and purified on the path of personal growth.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5. The Path of Growth: Trials of the Soul-Flame
In Arreqqana tradition, growth is not passive. It requires us to face trials that test and purify our inner flames, bringing them into balance and strength.
Spiritual Accountability
The path begins with a core principle outlined in Velqres’tiya 4:8:
"A darkened flame is darkened by its own choosing."
This teaches us that the shadows in our soul are not caused by outside forces; they arise from our own choices and must be tended to by our own will.
The Two Gates of Trial
Every soul on the Flameborn path must pass through two fundamental types of tests:
• Qharnai: The trials of endurance.
• Shen’zja: The trials of self-revelation.
The Inner Trials
The scripture also reveals the nature of the soul's inner test, the Khesha’tar. This is not merely about enduring hardship, but about integrating our inner fires into active virtues:
"The soul-flame’s test is this: compassion igniting strength, wisdom igniting transformation."
This means our gentle heart (Lia) must become a source of protective fire, and our knowing vision (Keshel) must become a force for meaningful change in ourselves and the world.
The Dual Mirrors of Truth
As we face these trials, our identity (Narriya) is shaped by balancing two fundamental pairs of truth:
• The Shadow and the Gleam: This is the sacred work of balancing your inner mystery with clarity (Sharn vel zhal). It is about knowing what to hold hidden and what to reveal.
• Form and Sincerity: This is the work of balancing your outer form with honest expression (Khema vel jia). It is about ensuring the person you present to the world is aligned with your true self.
Navigating these trials successfully leads one to the final, profound realization of the Flameborn path.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6. The Ultimate Goal: The Crowning Realization
The destination of this journey is the Crowning Realization, a state of integrated, harmonious being. It is a deep understanding of self that transcends simple definitions. The scripture Velqres’tiya 4:8 describes this state with poetic beauty:
"Identity emerges when flame and silence finally agree."
This profound idea teaches that true identity is not found in extremes but in the perfect, harmonious balance of opposing forces. It is the point where our inner world and outer actions become one. This balance includes:
• Action and Contemplation
• Will and Surrender
• Fire and Stillness
Achieving this balance is not an end, but a new, more awakened way of being, where every action is rooted in wisdom and every moment of silence is filled with purpose.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7. Conclusion: The Witness and the Blessing
As we have seen, the soul's journey is a sacred and dynamic process. It follows the path of becoming—rising (Qhena), enduring (Jorren), and awakening (Kesha’el). This path is one of balancing our beautiful inner fires of mystery (Sharn), the gentle heart (Lia), and the knowing vision (Keshel) through trials that forge our true identity.
In this journey, you are never truly alone. Our cosmology teaches of Téyja, the Divine Witness. Téyja observes every soul's journey with perfect truth but without judgment. This is the doctrine of Soul Transparency—nothing is hidden from her. As the scripture says:
"She sees the flame at its birth, she hears the voice beneath the voice."
She sees the three sacred colors of the soul: your compassion, sight, and mystery, and honors the flame you are becoming.
May you always tend to your inner fire, for its light is a beautiful and unique contribution to the cosmos, forever on its endless path of becoming.

More Than Words: How Arreqqana Redefines Desire, Intimacy, and Sound

The language we speak is more than a tool for communication; it is the very architecture of our reality. The words we have at our disposal shape how we perceive emotions, interpret art, and understand the world around us. When a language lacks a word for a certain concept, that concept can become harder to grasp. Conversely, when a language possesses a unique and specific term for a complex idea, it grants its speakers a more nuanced lens through which to experience life. The fictional language of Arreqqana offers a profound example of this principle. It is a language built not just for communication, but for a deeper, more textured experience of existence. Within its grammar and vocabulary lie concepts for music, love, and desire that are fundamentally different from our own, offering a glimpse into another way of being. It seems only natural that a culture that treats sound as a multi-sensory, spiritual force would also develop specialized linguistic tools for its most profound ...

Peppiqhilala and Jarruwano

(explanation in sajiyuta script) In this tender nighttime scene, Jarruwano of the House of Tarraqhavvezz leans over to gently kiss Peppiqhilala’s forehead as she sleeps, wrapped peacefully beneath soft blue-and-white floral blankets. His long black hair cascades forward, brushing near her curls as his presence radiates warmth and guardianship. Dressed in his ceremonial black blazer with a crisp white shirt slightly unbuttoned, a sacred pendant resting on his chest, Jarruwano’s expression is one of silent devotion and unspoken love. Peppiqhilala sleeps serenely, her face lit with calmness, framed by her flowing curls. Her hands rest gently over the blanket, relaxed and trusting in the protection surrounding her. The entire moment is bathed in a sacred stillness—an unspoken vow between protector and beloved. This is not merely a gesture of affection; it is a vow of watchfulness. Jarruwano, as one of Peppi’s chosen guardians within the great lineage of Tarraqhavvezz, channels his lo...
