The Lost Heirs of Tarraqhavvezz: The Story of the Qhalevrasja Siblings

This is the story of three forgotten siblings who journeyed from a destitute coastal shack to reclaim their rightful place in the noble House of Tarraqhavvezz.

1.0 A Legacy of Exile: The Severed Branch

Three generations ago, a shadow fell upon the Tarraqhavvezz lineage. Elder Luvvazorren, a man obsessed with keeping the clan’s noble flame “unmixed, unblemished, and perfectly coastal,” banished his younger sister, Qhalevvarra. He condemned her for marrying a common fisherman from the river region, an act he saw as a stain upon their pristine bloodline. While the family’s Matriarch was away, Luvvazorren took it upon himself to forcibly strike Qhalevvarra's name from the official flame-ledger, severing her entire branch from the family tree with a chilling declaration:

"Sa line na rra— sa Tarraqhavvezz na vvasya"

This decree—meaning This branch is cut, this Tarraqhavvezz is no more—was no mere disownment; it was an erasure. Qhalevvarra and her descendants were cast into obscurity, a lost line left to wither in the unforgiving coastal winds of poverty and shame.

2.0 Survival on the Coast: A Life Forged in Hardship

In the present day, the echoes of that exile manifest in the lives of Qhalevvarra’s great-grandchildren—Zhaalinna, Vavo, and Niro. They survive in a collapsing shack on the shores of the Lower Crestshore Market, a home cobbled together from scavenged driftwood, torn festival tarps, and old boat panels. The interior is a cramped testament to their resilience. A woven fishing net, used by day to earn their keep, hangs from the ceiling to serve as a hammock by night. Zhaalinna’s corner holds her basket of silverfish and a hidden, folded paper bearing her mother’s old surname. The brothers’ section is a chaos of homemade magic props. In a small nook sits a shrine with a faded wave-sigil tile fragment, where offerings of seashells are placed in quiet prayer.

Their survival hinges on a delicate balance of roles, each sibling a vital part of their small, self-reliant family unit.

Sibling

Age & Role

Survival Skills

Zhaalinna

15, The Shield

Selling silverfish, ropework, street intuition, protecting her brothers.

Vavo

12, The Fox

Sleight-of-hand, street magic scams, charming audiences.

Niro

10, The Lantern

Assisting in scams, being the innocent decoy, painting charms.

Haunted by their mother's whispers of a noble past, the siblings decide to take a desperate gamble that will change their lives forever.

3.0 A Desperate Gamble: The First Encounter

One day, standing barefoot on the wet market planks, Zhaalinna freezes. She sees Jarru Tarraqhavvezz, a young noble whose fine clothes are not what capture her attention. It is his eyes: "Purple coastal eyes," the unmistakable flameborn trait of the great house, the very same shade as her own. Believing he might be their only chance, the siblings enact a desperate plan.

Zhaalinna approaches him, her voice quiet and cracked with a hope she can barely contain. “Sa… na rran-la?” she asks. Cousin…? As Jarru’s curiosity is piqued, Vavo steps forward with a quick grin, levitating a silver coin between his fingers while Niro blows a pinch of salt-dust to make it sparkle. The trick is a charming distraction, but it is Zhaalinna’s final, vulnerable plea that plants the seed. “Lasi tornasja… sa laqwala,” she whispers. We’re just… trying to live.

4.0 The Unraveling Truth: From Deception to Destiny

What began as a scam for survival slowly unraveled into a confrontation with a forgotten history and a destiny none of them could have imagined.

4.1 Kindness and Conflict

Believing their story, Jarru begins to provide for them, bringing clean clothes, new shoes, warm food, and even a proper magic kit for Vavo. But his kindness becomes a source of conflict, clashing with Zhaalinna’s fierce, hardened pride. The tension culminates in a raw argument outside their shack. When Jarru speaks of the "pressure" he feels as a noble, Zhaalinna confronts him with the brutal reality of her life.

He tries to connect, instinctively softening his speech to match her coastal market dialect, but the gesture wounds her deeply. "Don't... don't speak like us," she pleads. "Sa... it hurts." When a confused Jarru asks why, her reply slices through the gulf between their worlds.

"Because you can choose it. I live it."

4.2 The Archivist's Investigation

Jarru’s generosity does not go unnoticed. His aunt, Qhalessa Tarraqhavvezz, the family's archivist and historian, grows suspicious. She begins a meticulous investigation, poring over dusty scrolls and old flame-ledgers. Her search leads her to a "ghost entry"—the damaged, sealed record of Qhalevvarra, forcibly removed by Elder Luvvazorren decades ago. The truth of the lost branch is finally rediscovered.

4.3 The Confrontation and Restoration

Qhalessa brings the siblings to the Tarraqhavvezz estate. Overwhelmed by the grandeur and her own guilt, Zhaalinna breaks down, confessing that their claim of kinship was a lie born of desperation.

It is then that Qhalessa gently reveals the shocking truth: their lie was, in fact, reality. They are the true descendants of the banished Qhalevvarra. As the siblings stand stunned into silence, Jarru steps forward, his voice clear and decisive. “They are clan,” he declares. “Even if they lied—they lied to survive, not to steal... you were never supposed to starve on my coastline.” With that, the broken line is restored. Their full names are formally inscribed upon the family scroll: Zhaalinna Qhalevrasja Tarraqhavvezz, Vavvaqho Qhalevrasja Tarraqhavvezz, and Nirrozji Qhalevrasja Tarraqhavvezz.

The shock of this revelation gives way to the overwhelming reality of a life they never knew they were meant to have.

5.0 From Shack to Estate: The Noble Transformation

Moving into the grand Tarraqhavvezz estate is a surreal experience. The warm, spacious halls and soft beds are a world away from the cold, cramped shack where they had huddled together for warmth.

5.1 Forging an Heir

As the eldest, Zhaalinna begins an intensive period of noble training. Her transformation is grueling but profound, as she is not remade, but awakened.

• Posture & Presence: Tutors work to straighten her spine until her old "fisher's hunch" dissolves, replaced by the poised grace of a noblewoman.

• Speech & Diction: She practices in secret, her clipped market speech softening until she can shape the formal vowels and melodic cadence of the noble coastal dialect perfectly.

• Etiquette: After fumbling a silver fork in a moment of public shame, she masters the intricate rules of the table until every movement is precise.

• Blade Training: Jarru personally guides her hands on a practice sword, her shaky movements growing sharp, controlled, and elegant.

• Calligraphy: Her initial ink splatters transform into flawless, glowing characters in the Qhavvarella script that flow like water.

5.2 Trials by Fire: Confronting the Court

Zhaalinna’s newfound status is immediately tested by the cruelty of the court. On two separate occasions, she faces public humiliation and rises above it with the strength forged in hardship.

1. The Fish Seller: In the Pearl Garden, a group of nobles mocks her past, asking her to demonstrate how to gut a fish. Unshaken, she silences them with a voice that is sweet but edged with steel.

2. The Wine Stain: At a moonlit reception, the cruel Lady Selvarra intentionally spills wine on Zhaalinna’s gown, calling it a "fisher's rag." In this moment of intense humiliation, Zhaalinna finds her voice, delivering a powerful speech that redefines the very nature of honor.

These private victories set the stage for their first major appearance before the entire noble society.

6.0 The Heirs' Debut: Acceptance at the Festivals

The grand festival of Lumina'Tahra, the Night of A Thousand Waves, serves as the siblings' public debut. It is here that they prove to the world that they are not just survivors, but true heirs of Tarraqhavvezz.

Zhaalinna, The Graceful Tide During the Noble Tide Dance, Zhaalinna at first stumbles, the memory of her old life a knot in her feet. But then, looking up at the moons, she finds a rhythm that is not merely polished, but "alive like the ocean itself." Her fluid, powerful grace captivates the audience and earns a nod of respect from an elder, who remarks that her movements are reminiscent of Qhalevvarra herself.

Vavo, The True Magician Taking the stage, Vavo transforms his clever street scams into a radiant performance of true illusion. Coins spark into shimmering tides and shells levitate in swirling patterns. His act, born of desperation, is now a display of artistry that earns him wild, thunderous applause.

Niro, The Pure Heart In a sacred ritual, Zhaalinna and Niro place a lantern for their ancestors into the Great Moon Vessel. The moment it touches the water, the entire basin erupts in amethyst and silver light—a sign that the ancestral flame recognizes their blood as "true."

Their public acceptance is solidified, but it is the quiet moments between them that truly forge a new family.

7.0 A Family Reborn, A Future Reclaimed

In the aftermath of their public acceptance, a series of deeply personal moments cement the siblings' new bonds with Jarru and solidify their place within the House of Tarraqhavvezz.

1. A Sister's Strength, A Brother's Support: In a moment of vulnerability in a moonlit courtyard, Zhaalinna rests her forehead against Jarru's chest, allowing herself to lean on him for the first time. He wraps an arm around her, promising, "From now on, Zhaa… no storm hits you alone."

2. The Weight of a Word: After a nightmare, a sleepy Niro curls into Zhaalinna's arms and calls her "Saji-mama." A sacred name in Arreqqana culture for eldest siblings who raise the younger, the term is a profound acknowledgment of her years of sacrifice, moving her to silent tears.

3. The Heir's Blade: Jarru gifts Zhaalinna her first ancestral blade, Khalu'Serinn. When she confesses she feels unworthy, he affirms her place with powerful words: "Worthiness is not given by birth. It is earned in survival."

4. A Voice for the Forgotten: Finally standing before the court in the Hall of Waves as a recognized heir, Zhaalinna makes her first official declaration. Her voice, once shaped by market shouts, now rings with noble authority as she speaks an oath that defines her legacy.

More Than Words: How Arreqqana Redefines Desire, Intimacy, and Sound

The language we speak is more than a tool for communication; it is the very architecture of our reality. The words we have at our disposal shape how we perceive emotions, interpret art, and understand the world around us. When a language lacks a word for a certain concept, that concept can become harder to grasp. Conversely, when a language possesses a unique and specific term for a complex idea, it grants its speakers a more nuanced lens through which to experience life. The fictional language of Arreqqana offers a profound example of this principle. It is a language built not just for communication, but for a deeper, more textured experience of existence. Within its grammar and vocabulary lie concepts for music, love, and desire that are fundamentally different from our own, offering a glimpse into another way of being. It seems only natural that a culture that treats sound as a multi-sensory, spiritual force would also develop specialized linguistic tools for its most profound ...

Peppiqhilala and Jarruwano

(explanation in sajiyuta script) In this tender nighttime scene, Jarruwano of the House of Tarraqhavvezz leans over to gently kiss Peppiqhilala’s forehead as she sleeps, wrapped peacefully beneath soft blue-and-white floral blankets. His long black hair cascades forward, brushing near her curls as his presence radiates warmth and guardianship. Dressed in his ceremonial black blazer with a crisp white shirt slightly unbuttoned, a sacred pendant resting on his chest, Jarruwano’s expression is one of silent devotion and unspoken love. Peppiqhilala sleeps serenely, her face lit with calmness, framed by her flowing curls. Her hands rest gently over the blanket, relaxed and trusting in the protection surrounding her. The entire moment is bathed in a sacred stillness—an unspoken vow between protector and beloved. This is not merely a gesture of affection; it is a vow of watchfulness. Jarruwano, as one of Peppi’s chosen guardians within the great lineage of Tarraqhavvezz, channels his lo...
